We are continuing our unit in Living Systems and continue to observe our red worm habitats! The worms have started composting! The students have been observing the worms twice a week and are now starting to see the changes. We plan to continue these observations thorough May and are hopeful we will have some compost to share with the environment!
The students are now learning about the process of photosynthesis and importance it plays in life on Earth. They are studying how light energy, carbon dioxide and water help plants to make food (sugar) and how in return the plants give us oxygen and water. In the next few weeks we will be growing (hopefully) and observing wheat plants then moving on to the human circulatory and respiratory systems. May 4th will be the kick off to our Family Life unit of study. Robert Crowne Center for Health Education will be coming to Bell! Information will be coming home in the next few weeks about the program and how this will look in the classroom. Stay tuned!
